The Directors of Logiport are Gerry Stanford and Nick Kay:

Gerry has over 33 years imports experience primarily within the Littlewoods Group where he worked in various roles before coming the Group Shipping Manager. He was responsible for implementing industry leading initiatives within the Littlewoods Group and has extensive knowledge of the imports industry.

Nick has over 14 years supply chain experience. After his MSC in Logistics from Cranfield School of Management, he worked for ASDA in head office and operational roles before taking up a consultancy role within a supply chain practice working across multiple businesses / countries and re-engineering supply chain processes. After a couple of successful senior interim management assignments, he joined the Littlewoods Group where he undertook a number of senior operational roles. His last role was as Head of Logistics for Littlewoods Stores until Jan 2006.

Gerry & Nick have a good mix of foreign / UK knowledge and operational / consultancy experience. They are able to challenge status quo, lead and drive critical projects, advise on alternative strategies and shape solutions to tailor business requirements but they also have strong operational experience. This includes:

  • International freight management / supply chain development / operational logistics at executive level
  • Multiple sector, company and country experience
  • Operationally responsible for:
    • Many thousand TEU's, multi-million chargeable kilos of airfreight and European road freight
    • Multiple distribution centre network
    • 1500 employees, 300 tractors, 1000 trailers
  • Excellent record with cost savings. Lead multi-million pound cost-saving projects (up to 30% reduction in cost base)
  • Development of sophisticated inbound supply chain operations
  • Re-aligning processes and IT innovations enabling re-structuring
